This notice explains how The Royal We, LLC, operating as Hunter Canning Photography on huntercanningphoto.com, collects and uses your information. We do not sell or share your information with advertisers. We do not run analytics tags on this site. Most of what we hold is what you send us when you ask about booking a shoot.
1. What information do we collect?
When you contact us about a booking, we receive whatever you choose to send (typically your name, email, organization or production, the shoot date and location, and any reference details). When a booking moves into a paid engagement, we also process the contracting, payment, and image-delivery information needed to perform and invoice the service. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server access logs (IP, requested URL, timestamp, user-agent) for security and debugging. We do not collect biometric data or other sensitive personal information.
2. How do we use your information?
Inquiry correspondence is used to evaluate, scope, contract, deliver, and invoice photography services. Server logs are used to detect abuse and diagnose outages, then rotated and discarded. We do not use your information for advertising or for training third-party machine-learning models.
3. What legal bases do we rely on?
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other GDPR jurisdictions, our legal bases are: performance of a contract (when you book a shoot), legitimate interest (responding to inquiries and keeping the site secure), and consent (for any optional communications you opt into).
4. When and with whom do we share your information?
We share information only with the service providers required to operate the site and deliver photography services: Cloudflare (CDN, DNS, edge security), DigitalOcean (server hosting), Amazon Web Services (storage and outbound email delivery via SES), and the contracting and payment platforms named in your engagement agreement. These providers act as processors under our instructions. Photographs delivered to you are not shared with third parties unless you instruct us to do so. We have not disclosed, sold, rented, or shared personal information to any third party for advertising, analytics, or marketing purposes in the past twelve months.
5. Do we use cookies and tracking technologies?
We do not set our own cookies and we do not run analytics or advertising
trackers. Cloudflare, which sits in front of the site as a security and
performance layer, may set a short-lived cookie named
__cf_bm for bot management. This cookie is strictly necessary for site
function and is not used to track or profile you.
6. How do we handle photographs?
Photographs we deliver to you are governed by the licensing terms in your engagement agreement. We retain a copy of the delivered files in encrypted archive storage for our portfolio, archive, and for re-delivery if you lose your copy. Identifiable photographs of individuals are not posted publicly in our portfolio without their consent or, where applicable, the consent of the rights-holder. To request removal of an identifiable photograph from the public portfolio, email privacy@huntercanningphoto.com.
7. Is your information transferred internationally?
Our infrastructure lives in the United States. If you are accessing the site or contracting from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. We rely on appropriate safeguards, including the standard contractual clauses offered by Cloudflare, DigitalOcean, and AWS, for cross-border transfers.
8. How long do we keep your information?
Inquiry and engagement correspondence is retained for as long as it remains relevant to the relationship and to satisfy our tax, accounting, and legal record-keeping obligations (typically seven years). Server logs are kept for roughly thirty days, then deleted automatically. Delivered photographs are retained indefinitely as part of our archive unless you request their removal under section 6.
9. How do we keep your information safe?
We use HTTPS across the site, restrict administrative access to multi-factor authenticated accounts, and keep our software stack patched. No security program is perfect; if a breach affecting your data occurs we will notify you as required by applicable law.
10. Do we collect information from minors?
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, email privacy@huntercanningphoto.com and we will delete the record. Photography of minors is governed by the parental consent and release provisions in the engagement agreement for any shoot involving minors.
11. What are your privacy rights?
You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export the information we hold about you, and you can object to or restrict our use of it. Email privacy@huntercanningphoto.com to make any of these requests; we will respond within thirty days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a right.
12. Controls for Do-Not-Track features
We do not respond to Do-Not-Track signals because we do not track you in the first place.
13. Do United States residents have specific privacy rights?
Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states with consumer privacy statutes have the rights to know, access, correct, and delete the personal information we hold about them, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information. Email privacy@huntercanningphoto.com to exercise any right.
14. Do other regions have specific privacy rights?
Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa have rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, PIPEDA, the Australian Privacy Act, the New Zealand Privacy Act, and POPIA respectively. These rights generally include the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any right, email privacy@huntercanningphoto.com.
15. Do we update this notice?
Yes. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we make material changes. If a change materially affects how we use existing data, we will notify clients by email.
